PostPosted: Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:12 pm    Post subject: Need a cure for extremely cold floors

My condo is on the first floor of the building. There is a storage room (unheated) beneath most of my unit. It becomes extremely cold in winter and heating is costing a fortune. One friend suggested that it would cost less to heat with portable heaters than to try to make the furnace keep up, especially because the thermostat is so far from the cold part of my condo.

The cold is coming up through the floor. I've recarpeted and installed double padding under the carpet. Would radiant floor heat and radiant wall heat in the lower part of the walls cure what ails my condo? Or should I just sell out and move?

Thanks.
Bill B.
